Obituary for James C. "Brother" Parker
A graveside service for James Cleveland "Brother" Parker, Sr. of Cordele will be held Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Brother, 86, as he was affectionately known by everyone passed away Thursday at his residence after an extended illness. He was born Sumter County and was the son of the late Gordon Parker and Kittie Mae Parker. He was the longtime co-owner along with his late wife, Nancy, and manager of Parker's Flower Shoppe in Cordele and a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, Rita Parker and Bill Greenwood of Lavonia, Ricky and Robin Parker of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Mike and Vickie Parker of Macon, Rusty and Brenda Parker and Billy and Rhonda Parker, all of Cordele,James "Jimbo" and Karla Parker of Warner Robins and Dale and Pam Parker of Cordele; grandchildren, Reuben Williams, Drayton Parker, Keelan Parker, Carson Parker, Shaun Parker, Ryan Parker, Amber Parker, Ashlyn Parker and Zackery Parker; step-grandchildren, Johnathen Eason, Jeremy Eason, Ashley Carter and Steven Carter; great-grandchildren, Casey Parker, Caleb Parker, Christian Parker, Ramsay Cole White and Wyatt Williams; and two sisters, Josie Greene of Cordele and Frances Ledford of Albany.
