    Default Ethanol Gas Question

I have been buying all my gas at Chevron stations here in Warner Robins for my boat and my trucks and cars. One of the Chevron owners (Mr. Bob) at the Chevron by Shakey's on N. Houston Drive told me he does not have gas with no Ethanol in it anymore. I had noticed where he had posted the stickers 10% Ethanol. He told me that they passed a law that all gas has to have Ethanol in it. The other Chevron station I go to in Centerville on Elberta Road states their gas is Ethanol free and they don't have the stickers. Does anybody know if that is true that all gas has to have Ethanol in it? If it is true it is going to be harder on boat motors. Thanks, Wes

I heard a few months ago that Non Ethanol is going to be a thing of the past, although I know some places still have it. One place between Cordele and Albany just recently started carrying non ethanol gas...Not sure what the laws actually are or how long non ethanol gas is gonna last.

I heard that it will soon be 15% INSTEAD OF THE b.s 10% WE HAVE NOW and the motor warnity only covers the 10%. They sell non-ethanol gas on the lake, cost a little more but worth it.

    This is true.

If you buy gas for your boat make sure you put Sta-bill marine in the gas. You never know what these folks are really doing.

Obama may want to make sure that we cannot feed ourselves?????? Well, I still have a paddle boat and I will show his butt.......

Darn politicians can't stand it they always gotta mess up something. For ya'll's info there is 3 stations that I know of that sells ethanol free gas and one is the store right across from the theater on Hwy 280 in Cordele. Another station is named "Fast Stop" that is located across the road from the city hall which is located on the north end of town on Hwy 41. The last one that I know of is "Evans Outdoors" that is located on the west side of Cordele on Hwy 280.

I will not defend a politician to save my life but this crap came from the E.P.A long before any congress and others. There was a chemical used in gas that some where in California they decided that it caused cancer in the illegal's or something but they outlawed it, long story short the only way to make the octane rating was to pour in ethenol. Now come the crooks on capital hill, someone whom is in the ethenol industry wants more of the pie and "Hey we need to make the public use more, now it's 15 % instead of 10%, but they are finding that the 15% blend kills things, not just outboards and the last I read is that 10% blend will always be avalible and yes you must run an ethenol treatment stabilizer ALL the time to keep it from killing all our motors. I deal with this every day, and as time goes on without teratment it will only get worse. If you look at a co-op for farmers they still have leaded gas for off road use and the last I checked there aren't many roads on the lakes. JMHO

Said the same thing about 4 months ago. Since then, I have had to overhaul the entire fuel system on my boat from tank thru engine. It is bad crap, especially if you do not have the hoses suited for the ethanol to begin with.

for what it is worth. natural rubber lines will rot with ethanol. this after replacing fuel lines in chain saws, weed eaters. so farnoboat motors. dealership says the best thing is to drain out the linesif the item is not going to beused for awhile
