Only times I've had success was late may - September. I usually fish the timber just below long shoals on the left, submerged timber in the mouth of rocky creek or the timber in the mouth of lick creek during that time. I've tried probably a 1/2 dozen times between feb-april with no solid luck. As for location in the timber, I've always stayed along the outside edge in standing timber and thats typically where I see most others fishing.
In those spots I mentioned. Thats my summer night spots. The few times i've tried in late winter/early spring have been usually around where I catch trolling fish in the day. mouth to middle of creeks/coves but like I said, never had any luck during those times.
