Thumbs down Ga Widlife Tags ???

I guess I missed this in the news if it ever was publisized, but I got to looking at last years tag reciept for my truck after I had already bought the new one yesterday and it was about 40 bucks higher than last year, for year older truck? Come to find out the Bobwhite Quail Tag I bought for a one time fee 4 yrs ago will now cost 35 bucks a year extra to keep it on my vehicle. The lady at the tag office didn't happen to mention it either, but you can turn your old tag in for a new regular one for free ????

That's a ripoff. When my daughter turned 16 I was going to get her a personalized tag until I found out there was a yearly "maintenance fee" of either $25 or $35 (cant remember now) so I told 'em never mind.:o As luck would have it she has her name on her tag (AMY) along with a whole bunch of others. It just happened to be the liscense plate letters.:D:D

If you think that is bad just wait untill next wk. when you see all the new taxes on the poor and retirees that worked and paid our state income taxes all our life and now they want to do away with more of the taxes on industry and put them on us poor folks.

Tony, I found out the same ting in September and I told them I did not want it anymore. The money for the wildlife tags went to a general fund anyway and not toward game species.

I had four Quail tags, one for a car and two for two trucks and one for my boat trailer. I went to renew in October and I didn't know how much they were because I have had them for years. The lady was kind of enough to point out how much they were ripping me off for and said if I didn't renew them I could get the regular tags free. So free sounded good to me and I knocked off 140 off my bill. Nice lady to point that out, other wise I would have never noticed. She said everybody is turning in their tags. So the goverment tries to rip us off and they end getting less money. Typical of our government at work. Wes
