got the family back down to the Gulf of Mexico again before the oil gets any worse......hot doesn't even describe the weather we fished in.....beautiful conditions other than the heat......just something about being on the ocean that makes everything else not seem so big.....the kids got to see so many things: sea turtles as wide as my boat; a dolphin came by and played around the boat for a while, jelly fish, starfish, and they also got to catch and touch sharks, trout, ladyfish, redfish, cobia, sea bass, spanish mackerel, flounder, and more that I just can't remember right now.....we have had better trips down there as far as numbers of keepers but this trip was just as good because time with family is what counts and watching these boys take in all the things in nature is just amazing......here's a few pics
A few for the fillet knife
A under-slot red but beautiful color
The view heading back in
A undersized cobia but pulled like a full grown one

Thats some good eating thats for sure. Where in the gulf did you go? Were heading down the week of the 4th to Cape San Blas, if the oil dont get there first.
Yea Shinerunner, man that is beautiful! Thanks for sharing your trip and family with us. man just to think of what that oil is going to do makes me SICK. thanks again buddy. Jimmy S.ps wish I had the picture behind the boat as my screen saver. beautiful j.s.
JimmyS pm me your email address and I will send it to you. It is my desktop background right now!
Timbo66, we were at Keaton Beach. Wanted to go back this coming weekend and do some scalloping since FL opened the season early because of the oil. Looks like it will be the weekend of the 4th or after before I can. They extended the area of closure of the Gulf today but still not to my area yet. Maybe it will hold off because we did find a lot of scallops last weekend.
