    Default Motor Change

I am going to replace an old Mercury 35 HP to a new 50 HP Mercury. My question is, Will the cable and controls fit or even work the new motor??

    Thanks

Danbo - I have a 2002 40hp 4 storke and have gotten quotes to upgrade to a new FI motor and have been told all that was needed was the adapter mentioned by striperking.

I haven't made the change so I'm not completely sure. I haven't made my mind up on Merc, Etec or the new light weight 70 Yamm has this year.

may depend on how old the 35 is as opposed to the new 50. is there a 20 year difference?
