Drop shot
anybody drop shot bluegills here?
If so talk to this old man as this is new to me and I want to learn more.
Starting with rod length, power etc. Line weights, best type of lure.
I was setting my lure about 16 inches up from the weight,is that about right?
I have been dinking around this past summer with a 6 ft rod which was too heavy and
useing gulp minnows and sometimes putting just a cricket on the hook with good success
but I need to learn a lot more about this drop shot thing.
Thank you

Go to Youtube.com and search on drop shot fishing and you will find a ton of instructional videos.
Never tried a drop shot for Bream but I do fish with a sinker about 2 feet about a number 8 hook. I like to tight line for Bluegills and Crackers.
Use worms.

I like Shakespere Graphite Micro-Lite 7' spinning rods, Abu Garcia 101 spinning reels, and 4# Trilene XL in ponds or lakes and 6# Trilene XL in the river.

Thanks Stickburner,
Wednesday the wife and I were in WalMart and I just happened to
check out the rod your talking about and had bought it,line weight on those rods say
4-10#.
That Shakespere Graphite Micro-Lite 7' lives up to its name .....Micro Lite,
as it dont weight anything and the price sure was right $16.00
I took a real small Shimano reel I had and put 6# XL on it and plan on trying it out
hopefully this weekend if the weather co-operates,it should do good for double duty,
crappie & bluegill I would think.
Thank you again
