Lot of local Keys debate on why the Governor decided on short notice to add an extra day of recreational lobstering for Fl residents only.
I'm not going to complain; a buddy of mine and I took the 14th off and grabbed our kids and went to check on some of our near shore spots off Islamorada and found them nicely loaded with bugs.
Granddaughter caught her first and we reached our 5-person limit within an hour or so.
Straight back to the dock where we split the tails, sprinkled with everglades seasoning and put them on the grill with a bit of butter on top. Quick cook for 6 min did the trick and we had a bunch of happy campers.
Thank you Governor Desantis!

Fantastic post. We love the shellfish. Being from New Orleans I may have dropped mine in a boil with some other stuff for a food fest.

I worked the BP spill (MC 252) for a year based out of C&M in Lafitte and went to New Orleans quite often. Best food in the world in my humble opinion. I’ve split the tails and sautéed in butter, Worcestershire and garlic a few times to make BBQ lobster. Pretty good ayeeee.
Nice! Brought back some memories. I worked out of Trinidad in the late '80's drilling oil and gas wells. On our time off, we would head out to the reefs in a small boat. Dive down, catch, and load the boat full. Boiled them like crawfish, multiple pots on occasion.
There was a fella there from Thailand who would sometimes make a lobster curry which was outstanding. We often would tell him - stay in the kitchen, we'll cover for you.
Great post, enjoyed it.
