Thank you all for the warm welcome.
I first really got into fishing a few years ago living in Gadsden, AL. Being right on the beautiful Coosa River and seeing the large crowds of boats in the water when I was driving to work at 5am was enough to pique my interest that maybe I should start fishing.
Well, I saw a few Richard Gene crappie videos and went out to buy a whole assortment of jigs and grubs to start catching a whole lot of....nothing. But the bug had bit me.
I moved to where I reside now in the Birmingham area and after a settling and scouting period walk the woods most weekends around Lake Purdy where I started to target bluegill and bass to teach myself the basics.
Now I'm ready to pick up the jig again and learn to be a slab slayer myself! I've got a few small ones in my career so far but they have definitely been the most finicky fish for me to target from the bank.
Hoping to lurk, learn, and report back with my failures AND success as we come into the spawn!
