My handle here is shorewalker due to the lack of a boat.

I am a newbie to this forum. I am a newbie to forums in general, in spite of being an old man that spent 40+ years in the computer industry. I am retired and looking to spend more time fishing. I have fished a lot of the canals and small lakes in Northwest Broward area. Mostly for Bass with average success. I have yet to catch a crappie in any of the areas I have fished. Are they anywhere around the Coral Springs, South Boca area?
I am old enough to have caught gars at the west end of the C-14 canal where is meets up with the Sawgrass expressway. I have caught more that my share of Bluegills, stump knockers, and pumpkin seeds along with a handful of assorted ciclids. As of yet... No Crappies. I am also an avid fly fisherman. Can crappies be caught on a fly?
