Hi, I’m Bob from east of Oberlin, near Mamou. I fish forcrappie, catfish and those alligator gar fish at Chicot, that’s a little Northof Ville Platte. We catch them in WhiskyChitto Creek too. That’s a few miles West of Oberlin.We call themcrappie fish – “sac-a-lait” here.

Them bayou/swamp Cajuns live South of I-10 call us prairie Cajunscause we live North of I-10 in the prairie land. We hunt them green-head ducksand specklebelly geese in them rice fields around here this time of year too… sometimesif they are next to a canal or drainage ditch on the edge of a rice field we crawl-upon’em and pot-shoot’em… 1 shot, 10 kills.
