Thread: Nebraska guy here

Hi all. I stumbled across this site last night while doing a search on bait tanks. Glad I did too. I love fishing for crappie. I really wish I were better at it though. I hope to pick some pointers and ideas from you experts and maybe even share some of what I do know.
I fish mostly local farm ponds, no boat these days. I have been chasing crappie for a few years and use both live and artificial baits. I don't have any specialized fishing gear, just your basic UL rods & reels. I am hoping to get a trip in this spring to one of the premier crappie lakes, though have yet to decide which one.

I also spend a lot of time on some local rivers chasing catfish in the summer. I am better at that, but prefer the flavor of fresh crappie fillets over catfish. The wife and I have a camper located up north on the Missouri river bordering Nebraska and South Dakota. We spend most every weekend there fishing once it warms up.
