I'm one of the older new guys on the block. Nearing retirement from teaching and have started freshwater fishing after many years away from it. Kayak fishing is my mainstay but I recently bought a nice Jon boat ('84 MonArk 1448) and was given a 1969 20hp Johnson outboard that is in need of repair. That effort started as a hobby and looks like it is turning into a career!
From the bit of pier fishing I have done at Bell's Church on B. Everett Jordan, I know that I enjoy the taste of crappie and am looking forward to learning how to catch them better than just cast-and-hope. I need to learn their patterns and habits and when they will be biting at the local lakes. Likely going to try Lake Raleigh this afternoon (after the honey-do list is fininshed).
