    Default Newbie from Mississippi

I am new to fishing, and have never fished for crappie. I am hoping to start at Enid Lake in north Mississippi. I understand that the best time to fish is in the spring. But can anyone tell me if I can reasonable expect to catch them at other times of the year in that area? If so, when. Is there any place I can go to find this type of info? Books? Other websites? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome from Indiana, go to the boat ramp and ask some locals coming off of lake, look at tackle, will see what they are using, will see their style of fishing (casting, spider rigging) trolling. Also will show what kind of bait they are using. When a pair of buddies are done fishing, they do not put all their rigs up and stow them away so no one will see them. They just place them in the bottom of the boat, secure them down, turn and say lets go home. and don't care if anyone is at the ramp watching. THey just want to get home.
