Thread: New NE Ark member

Welcome from Mississippi fromally NE Arkansas. I went to ASU back in the early 70's and my parents live over in Portia on hwy 63. Real good crappie fishing in Lake Charles but when I lived there they ran on the small size (most less than 10") and you had to catch a hugh number of fish to get a limit of keepers (10" minimum). The lake just south of Harrisburg was real good to me too. I still read the Arkansas section from time to time.

Welcome aboard, caught my first crappie near Walnut Ridge many,many years ago. Moved to OHIO, but still miss Norfork Lake in april. Still good?

Ive never been on norfork. Ive only lived here for a few years(grew up in S. Ark). Ive fished lake charles a couple of times and only caught bass and carp. I do like portia bay, Ive had my best luck on it.

Are there any spots that ya'll would recommend for this weekend? I'm trying to decide whether to bow hunt or fish and I haven't heard anything about the fishing around here this year.
