Since I just registered, wanted to get the first post out of the way. Newly returned to fishing, hadn't been since I was a kid. My son (7) wanted to try it last summer so I bought so gear and we gave it a shot. Then my oldest daughter (10) wanted to go too. Bought another pole (a nice pink one just for her) and got out a couple more times.
I don't know much and we didn't catch much, but I enjoyed every minute of it, so much more than I ever thought I would.
I've spent the winter reading and researching and trying to absorb every bit of information I can. Crappie.com seemed to be the most friendly, helpful and active sites I've come across, so I thought I'd join.

But anyway, if anyone knows of any good family friendly spots near Pittsburgh to shore fish, I'd love to hear about it.
