hey everyone, just found this sight a couple of days ago, and hope to share and learn as time allows.
I'm from north alabama [ ROLL TIDE], but now living in south alabama, about 12 miles from the gulf.
the fresh water I fish here is a tidal river, and crappie are really hard to find. If the tide is out they seem to scatter,
when it's in you can find them around the same places as anywhere else docks & piers.
finding minnows is another challenge, since most bait shops cater to salt water fishermen.
I've been catching crappie on 1.5 inch shad assassins, but would like to try slow trolling or drifting minnows.
Does anyone know which end of Louis Smith Lake Has the best crappie fishing. I'm going up there in a couple
of weeks. Night fishing down here is pretty good. Lots of red fish and speckled trout, still not the same as finding
a big school of slabs, or finessing them out of tree tops.
Well, got to go....tight lines & clear skies to all.
