    Default Hi everyone!

My name is Zane.I live in Lafayette,La.I'm 49 and have been blessed to be reared by a father who liked to hunt and fish but lost him about 5 yrs ago.so now I'm passing down what he taught me to my children!!

I "LOVE" to fish for crappie or sac-au-lait.which is a french nick name down south here which means sack of milk.before refrigerators, ppl would put sacks of milk in the streams to keep it from spoiling.white crappie looked like the sacks of milk, hence the french name sac-au-lait!!

down south here most of our fishing is done in the basin's which can be great as long as the water levels and clarity are good but can also suck if conditions are'nt just right.not many lakes as far south that most of you get to fish in unless I travel 3 hrs to Toledo Bend.

anyway, hoping to get to meet and learn more technics from new ppl.in the past I've spent most of forum time on archerytalk.com which is a bowhunters forum.I probably have over 13k post there but plan on spending more time here for a while!!hope I make as many friends here as I have there!!

    thanks for reading my rambling:D

Hello everyone. just getting back into crappie fishing, bought a new boat, dusted off all the old gear and my daughter ( Katie"Bug" 15) and I are ready to go chase down some slabs at our favorite fishing hole (Stockton). Been 10 years since we have been on the lake or chased any crappie. Looks like alot has changed ( all this high tech stuff) but alot still stays the same. Looking forward to making new friends here or on the lake, so if ya see a tall grey hair man with a white hair on his chin and a cute brunette in a red nitro 640 pull in and say hi.
    Just call me......"Killswitch"....Rofl

New member from eastern North Carolina. 59 years old farmer and enjoy fishing and playing music. UNC Tarheel fan. Like college football and baseball. Mostly fish in mill ponds and reservoirs. Coastal waters are too crowded for me. Looks like a good website. Talk to you later.

New guy here from Maryland. Just picked up a little Ceasar Thunder Cat with what I think is a mid 80's outboard on it. Hope to find out more about. Wife wants to fish in the bay, I just want to relax!

    Hello all new member here.
I live in illinois and within a hour from coffen/litchfield lou yager/gillespie lake and a few others.i mostly bass fish but looking to start trying the crappie.I had a nice bass boat, but it was heavy and couldnt put it on coffen so i sold it to find a lighter boat.found the one i wanted and it just happens to say pro crappie .so thought i might try to live up to the name on the boat lol .maybe in a few years.just looking around for some pointers.might find some crappie fisher men who dont have access to a boat who would like to go and show me a thing or two.
