Those stumps on Talquin must be the hardest in the world ... Understand that they are the "Heart" of "Heart Pine" A guy told me he was going to see if he could use one for "Lighter Wood" (he had gotten it during a draw down) hit it with an axe and it just chipped off a crystal .... tough stuff ... been there for many years (same guy said he walked around picking up sinkers and putting in his pocket, had not gone far before he thought he was going to loose his pants ...
Understand that all the Pines were left when they backed the water .. the only stumps are the old cypress that was cut. I understand that at the first draw down a bunch of lower units and motors were found ... along with many other things such as a Pick Up ...
I never will forget back in the 70's a boat was following me out from the river I did not know where I was running but he thought I did ... blind leading the blind ....
I have some pictures that were taken of the first draw down (fellow charterer a plane) quite a sight ...
Be careful out there.

That creek we are seeing must be Polk Creek.....Interesting!!! That channel in that area has kicked my butt many times.....Now I see why....Thx for sharing!!!
