Hey Everyone,
My Dad, my son, and I just spent 2 1/2 days at Talquin and absolutely fell in love with it! After seeing all of the posts on the internet about Talquin we were fired up and ready to go. We put in at the lodge and fished the waters just out from it trolling jigs that we got from Rusty. The first afternoon, we only got 8, but we were excited about the bite to come the next morning and boy did it pay off. We caught 25 the next morning with the biggest being about 15 inches and weighing in the 2# range (boy these river fish sure are big!). We finished the trip with about 55 total fish and never had a greater time. We plan to make this a yearly expedition with plans to try Talquin in the summer as well.
Hope everyone continues to enjoy Talqin! What a beautiful fishery. Here are some the pictures of the great time we had.

Looks great Shane !
I'm sure you guys enjoyed it. I fished Talquin years ago with my granddad when he had a house and boat dock/house down there (long gone).
WTG ! !

Thanks, Danny. It was a great time indeed! Wish we were still there this morning. Thought about going to Orange this morning but the wind is going to be up. Guess I will go this weekend and see if I can catch as many as the Pros that will be there for Crappie USA tournament.

Every day you do not fish will be one day less you have to fish
I know the pictures from your previous post are what made us decide to come. However, I don't think Talquin is a secret to anyone. It is legendary in more than one state. I could tell that by all the GA boys and girls that were there this week (lol)!

Incredible bunch of black crappie! You'd better feed a family reunion with that batch.
They sure look better without any skin on them,YUMMMMYYYY.
It is a great place! I counted 36 boats out in front of Rusty's on saturday. A little crowded.![]()
I'd say a lot crowded. Be interesting to see if the lake can stand the kind of pressure it's receiving this year. I've heard tales how much better talquin was 15 years ago than it is now....let this kind of pressure keep up and I'm betting it'll start showing up in the not too distant future....
