As was suggested prior that we fish for 4 hours. 8:00AM until 12:00 NOON. I guess that that is not 4 hours actual fishing, but from the time that you leave the dock until you return. Some will more than likely return early (Hopefully because of catching their limit:D:D) This will give time to get the boats back on the trailers and clearing the launch area. THE FISH WHICH WILL GO FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS should be held separate from those which will get prepared for the grease.
If we all chip in to prepare the fish, it shouldn't take but a few minutes??

You can't drink coffee and fish at the same time.:rolleyes: The coffee will not stay hot while on the water. maybe 98.6 degrees while you filter out the goodness.

Check in time.......hhhuuuummmmmmmm. Got to thinking about that. Your gonna start fishin at 8? Is 4 hours long enough for the best slab seekers in florida to dessimate the crappie population in one measly lake/section of river???? How about 12, start eating at just after 1, start burping and feeling full by 2, then the cleanup. That way will leave between 3-4? Before the sun goes down and it gets chilly again.........thoughts anyone??

P.S. Other states have names for their get togethers....how bout "First Annual Gator Slabfest"?

Just a suggestion of the way it is usually done at our Slabfests in GA..We start fishing at daylight and usually fish till around 3 or 4...Then come in for the weigh in and prepare ourselves for some good eating. 4 hours from start to finish doesn't seem like it is long enough to fish, but it is gonna be mighty chilly this weekend. At our Slabfest at Talquin, we fished from around 7 until 12...came in for lunch and the first weigh in of 3 fish...then went back out and fished till dark...came in and had our final weigh in and had an awesome meal....I hope your Slabfest turns out to be very successful and I am looking forward to attending one in FL in the near future...Ang you guys are more than welcome to come up here and fish with us at any of our Slabfests also....Goos Luck this weekend!!!!!

first off...annual?? doesn't that mean yearly? i thought this was going to be more than once a year!!

second...for all the newcomers to this lake i don't feel 4 hours will be enough fish time! i think we should be able to start at dawn and work...i mean fish...till 12!

The original idea was to meet first, and I think that is to deliver any goods folks are bringing.
And, I would think that BoatClub08's place (Chuck), has become the point of drop off/pick up for those goods.
And, 8am was just a good number, then was changed to around 7am.
Myself, I'll be there a bit earlier, drop my goodies off, pick up my team, say Hi to anyone there, then head out before any of ya'll can follow
As far as check-in time, we all kinda put 12 noon as a good time, however, I think that'd probably be best determined by how many fish folks have caught, Ha, what if there ain't but ten fish been caught by 12 noon ?
We just gonna have to feel our way through it, etc.
