17th going to be a busy weekend
messsage posted from chucker:
Chucker lives in Sanford and has been checking out the harbor area and the places to have our picnic.:):)
His suggestion is to GET THERE EARLY because it will be a busy day. His suggestion is to get to the parking lot early probably 6:30-6:45 time frame, in order to get a parking spot. Late comers will have to park across the street.:eek:
QUOTE"Flycaster, I just came back from the harbor. There is no fish cleaning facility in the harbor area. I talked to Chuck at the boat club tackle shop. He is going to talk to the people that own the boat storage place next door to see if we can set up a table there to clean on. If all else fails, the people at the senior center said I could set up a table over there.
The park is closed in Sanford for repairs, but I have made arrangements to use the picnic area at the senior center next door to the park. We can mark out 4 tables for our use that day. There is water available if we have to clean fish there.
Chuck also said, if we get there after 7:30 am we are going to have a hard time parking. The parking lot get full on weekends early. There is more parking over across the street from the boat club area, is a little walk. The weekend of the 17th is a 3 day weekend (MLK day). Maybe you should poll all of the fisherman to see if we should start earlier.

She wants to know who all will be there "NOT" fishing and hangin out at the picnic tables (settin up, etc), or wherever, cause she don't want to be standing around by herself while I'm out fishing, etc, etc.
So, could we get a count of all the folks that will be holding down the shore activities while everybody else is fishing?????
And, once again, we're going to have to nail down the check-in time.
As far as the early meeting time (is at present = 8am), I'd say 7-7:30am would probably be a little better based on others arriving to go fishing, not in our group, etc.
As Chucker said in above post that the weekend of the 17th is a three day weekend for MLK Holiday. We should arrive and have the boats in the water by 7:00 AM in order to be able to have an orderly exit to go fish.
GUYS, please acknowledge that we should get the boats in the water by 7:00 AM
