    Hey all, I want some of your opinions on this cold weather, Is this the cold spell we needed?

    You betcha bucky. Cool the temps down and the specks will start schooling again. Been waiting on just that. Once the water cools down, where you catch one, you will catch a bunch, till they start spawning.

    Had two nights of record/near record lows. Got down to 39 at my little place on the island, in the mountains of Florida on the Harris Chain. Just can't wait to get the boat back in the water and see if they have started stackin up. May take a day or 2 for them to do so, but should start moving that way soon.

    Speaking of spawing. When in norhtern Fla. does that occur?

    Depends on the temp. Shu, help me out here, but I think between feb and march.

    My calander shows they went to the bank on Jan 12th last year.
    I recall that's the day that we couldn't find any in the lake and tried the river and there they were, and were there the rest of the year till spawn was over, etc, etc,......
    Of course that's around here, not Northern Fl..........

    1st moon of jan is time to try grass and pads, sometimes maybe 1 month earlier.
    Jan 01,'07 wanted to start year off right at ramp engine would not start so went to some close pads 2.5 hrs later thought 'better count the rascals' had 27 and put 2 back and came home.

    Thanks guys. Was planning on a trip about the 15'th of Feb to Orange Lake. Plan on being there about a month.
