Getting down to Astor this weekend just in time for the cold front.Taking my boat down to get a new motor installed. It will be ready for pickup monday evening and i will have tuesday and wednesday to fish.
I was not planning to take my long lining rods and wanted to just try jigging the pads. Is it too soon for that now? Will the specks pull back off the pads with the weather change or will they hang tighter in the weeds?
Thanks in advance.
I do some fishing on the St John’s chain of lakes and was told that they will back off at the beginning of a cold front. The only time I’ve fished at the start of a cold front, I long lined a shallow lake and they were on the bottom and biting but a little less active. Hope you get out and have some success.

Thanks! I am putting in at the Astor ramp and plan to run down to Dexter and Woodruff to start. Wont be fishing til Tuesday and maybe thru Thursday at noon. Got to work on breaking in new motor as well. Hopefully everything is stabilized by then and a few will bite.
