Fished Ocklawaha creek 8:30am today 3/2/25. I was the only boat in there on a sunday!!! Water temp. 63 degrees. Ocklawaha has traditionally been the creek for spawning. I live in the very back of hammock creek, also good spawning grounds. 3 boats all weekend. Talked to two who caught nothing. I am still long lining, haven't, and probably won't, switch to forward sonar. My neighbor has and we both believe last year was the worst year for crappie we have seen here. Too much pressure with too many spawning fish being talken out of the lake. We need to change to a 15 fish daily limit and 12'' length restriction. A draw down of the lake would be best, but that won't happen.
