    Default Crappie Spawn?

I've read that black crappie spawn somewhere around 62-65 degree water temp. But what I find confusing is do they spawn in relatively shallow water, say 2-4 feet or deeper, say 5-10? I'm talking the lakes in my area...Orange, Lochloosa, Newnan's, Rodman, Wauburg.

    Thanks

I’ve found them in shallow water less than 4’. I’ve caught them in 15” of water several times. I’ve caught the most while they were pre spawn and staging close by in a little deeper water. All that said, between health and weather I completely missed the spawn this year.
