was Under The Influence!Yesterday, I decided it was time to satisfy my Saltwater needs after a Six-month hiatus!
Yes, Under The Influence of a Full moon phase, and perfect high/dropping tide status. Had the new pup, Raynee aboard which makes the 3rd time to assess her/my tolerance of a 17' fishing space for multiple hours.
The Marine Weather Channel predicted light winds, so it was off for the 8 mile run offshore(5 protected/3 not so much). The 1- 2 footers with occasional white-capping had my guest firmly situated at my feet(laying down). Unfortunately, while slowing down, Raynee decided to "reintroduce" her early day puppy food. Thankfully, I was well prepared for all accidents that could occur...and they did!
The wond DID settle down to the forecast @930...Overall, we both had an enjoyable day of water togetherness, and the fish bit my finesse artificial offerings rather well. Two nice Snook(25/32" =CPR) Season opens 9/1. Three trout(16/18/19"). Flounder(14.5") Ladyfish, one nice 12" Grunt.
Enjoy the pics-
Back at the ramp, Raynee was onshore while I was final-loading rig, I stepped onto the trailer wheel fender from thigh-deep water and into boat. I heard a splash, paddling and a dog that got in the boat exactly like I JUST DID(via fender!) Unfortunately, no video!
