If I didn’t wake up on my own I wasn’t going to go. 5:30 the eyes popped open and already connected, off I went.

I really didn’t do well and caught very few fish unlike Saturday’s trip but NiNo was able to join me so it was a good trip anyway. This day the teacher became the student. While I was busy sucking wind NiNo was doin the deal! We started chasing some schooling bass and while I got one, they really weren’t as active as they were Saturday. Didn’t take long til we left for the second stop, and it came with a ride.

Perfect conditions as it had to be for the big water and our small boats. Slimjim was already there and the bluegill we thought would be there were hard to find. One of the guys there was territorial and ran his mouth and just about pushing my buttons. I moved and with the lack of fish, it didn’t take long for me to go.that was when NiNo came into his own. He used a different color and style of bug and really did well. I’m confident that he had between 15 and 20 fish. Not all big but busy just the same. I got a few crappie, 2 of which could’ve made the cut but they’re still there. He’d never seen one of these and folks, it was just plain fun to watch the fight unfold.

On a little 2 lb rig to boot! Good Job NiNo!! With the holiday this weekend I may stay off the water as it will be absolutely nuts,I’m sure. The bluegill and Warmouth and redbreast and flier all came to visit us and it was a fun day overall. Hope y’all get out and dodge the crazy people that holidays bring out but mostly, please be careful and aware of what’s going on around you. Til next time….Skeet
