Had my first successful crappie trip since joining this site. Went out to Lake Tarpon on Friday, thanks to you all suggesting it as a good fishery. Still a greenhorn at crappie fishing, but I managed to find a few drifting my kayak in around 12+ feet on the NW side of the lake. All three of the specks were caught on Bobby Garland’s baby Shad’s. Tried a few different colors, but they all hit on the Black Gum color. It was real windy out there (14+) so my only option was to drift/troll. Found an area with good bait activity on my sonar and ran over it a few dozen times with my two crappie rods and got a few hookups. With all that said I’m still anxious to catch them vertically or just in the active sense as I know how much of a challenge they are. Thank y’all for all the help.Name: IMG_2863.jpg
