A day on Lake Harris
After fishing the Astor area Sunday with a very slow bite that produced little action we decided to head to the Harris Chain, Lake Harris and Little Harris. It was a good decision, as we eased into our first spot there was and older couple fishing minners under floats about 100 yards a way, Miss Vickie was getting her pole situated and I started to dip the pads. Wham, a nice 11" after handing it to Miss Vickie I dipped in again and another was in the boat, the couple watched then motored off, I had seven in the well before Miss Vickie even got a line wet. We went to spot number two which gave us 2 more, then struggled for a while, as we ate lunch we motored towards Little Harris, little to no action in the pads. We decided to check the docks in the canals and wham Miss Vickie hits a nice 12", it was on for the rest of the afternoon, we quit at 3 pm and ended up with 26. No minners were harmed in the process all fish caught on orange mylar jigs tipped with Gulp Alive minnows and a good spritz of Slansauce.
