    Default Prototype measuring stick

Slab/members- Here is a ruler I mentioned a few days back that I said could be easily made using the, when available(coming to a neighborhood near you), Crappie.com self-adhesive measuring tape. Mine was made from available 1 1/4" flat, plastic strip I already had but could easily be made from material du jour. It consisted of the following steps 1- Cut 3- 13" pieces(strips) of stock 2- (heat gun/bend a 90* bend) for a lip-stop in one of the strips 3- Cut 3- 12" pieces of adhesive ruler(mine was from an available, free vendor) 4- Peeling back only an inch of adhesive backing to start alignment, adhering each strip to stock 5- On 2nd/3rd strips you will have 1" margin to use as a hinge pivot-point 6- Align 1st two strips and secure(i used a vice) and drilled a rivet-sized hole to insert a rivet(I used aluminum with 2 stainless tight-fitting washers...upper/lower)**important note: make sure your rivet length is about 1/8" longer than thickness of 2 strips of stock and washers. Sounds involved but really satisfying easy/peasy = See attached pic for finished product...now, can someone return the favor by pointing me in the direction of a 30" crappie!!
