Fish Tacos
Fished Mosquito Lagoon yesterday morning with decent results. Started at day break w/top water plug, BAM, 1st cast, pulling pretty good, comes to the boat & what???sea cat in 2 fow. Next 2 hrs go by & not a bite, but bait schools everywhere. Was going to pack it in early as the sun was getting higher in the sky, sure to bring the heat on. So on the way back to the ramp, stopped by a deep water area, LOL, 6ft for the lagoon & gave my traditional 10 cast spread. Wouldn't you know it, on the 10th cast, hooked up with a keeper trout. Spurred some interest again. The next 1 1/2 hrs spent drifting slowly to a 3mph wind, virtually catching fish cast after cast, forgot how hot it was even getting. Weeded through about 25 trout & maybe 10 more cats, crazy how them cats are adapting to artificial's. D.O.A. shrimp 5ft behind popping cork was lure of choice. Can't seem to stay away from them specks...HA...be it salt or fresh. Couple pics, not the best though, couple more months to catch them fresh water variety, see ya on the water soon!!
