Thread: Back Home from Talquin

Got back home from lake talquin last night.
Overall we had a good stay even though the weather was poor most of the time.
Last day of fishing was Wednesday it was sunny and warm with 5/10 mph winds.
We stayed at a rental home not far from the dam so that's where we did all our fishing, mainly because there were other local boats fishing that area. Found crappie in 30/35 feet of water and close to the bottom near a drop off. Early in the day I got a big surprise with this 9.6 pound largemouth. Got her on a 1/4oz. hand tied crappie jig (black). Weighed her, took a few pics and put her back. Later on the crappie fishing picked up. Ended up with sixteen nice crappie, most were right at a pound. Got a few on the same 1/4oz black jig but later on I switched to a 1/8oz and did much better.
