Nice! Glad you got enough to stink up the grease! They been biting good out past tree island in that open water. Try jigging nice n slow...use the trolling motor to keep the bow in the wind work the open water till you get thumped

Just got back yesterday from a 9 day trip to Buckhead Ridge. And all I can say is WOW !!! what a fishery. I've been down several times over the years but this year was a special trip in more ways than one. I officially retired 2 weeks ago yesterday & celebrated my going down and fishing with my uncle. Stayed longer this year because I didn't have to go back to work. The fishing was amazing. We have always caught pretty good numbers but this year was even better & the size was definitely better. Numerous 2lb. plus fish every day. Biggest one for me was 2.4 & 14 3/4" Big thick/healthy fish caught everyday. My hats off to you Florida guys. And BIG thanks to my uncle. Definitely a trip neither of us will ever forget.

Glad you had a good trip. Now that your retired, come back more often.
I havent been down that way in a couple weeks, and last time i found the lake very stirred up and dirty.
Did you fish the lake or river, and what was the best method for you?

Minnows in the river. We fished both days & nights. Dipping the edges, bridge and also caught a bunch anchored up.

The fishing has been getting better and better up there. The key right now is finding clean water as the main lake from Taylor creek across to clewiston is a giant mudslick. However there's plenty of nooks and crannies with good water and actually gets too clean for me...

Went yesterday, clean water in the rim canal. Water still muddy at lake entrance to rim. Singled pole my spots in rim and yeah! hit limit for a change.

Good to hear. I am wanting to come down during the week. I'm curious do the fish still have roe?
