Slims is a fish camp on the south end of the lake in Belle Glade. Nice ramps a nice cleaning station and a small
tackle shop. I think the place you're talking about is Okee Tantie the camground/marina right on the river.

I actually use the facility across the highway, which is also big and nice and just about an hour from home for me.
I'm sure those good tackle shops in Okeechobee wouldnt be happy about Bass Pro moving in.

A lot of money was spent there to develop that place. I'm told by the county, but not sure of that.

Guy Harvey was supposed to do something with it but that fell through. Now Bass Pro is supposed to pick it up. The place has a lot of potential and it would be nice to have back in operation. Sure do miss Lightsys being right there...we'd always clean a couple specks and have a fish sandwich and a beer or 2 before we left. Good times...
