I stopped by Lake Monroe today to see how the ramps were doing. The first one I visited was Wayside Park in Sanford on 17/92. The water was high! The docks were under water and the ramp was closed. It's going to be awhile before this one can be used. But there was plenty of room in the parking lot.
The next stop was Lake Monroe Park in Debury on 17/92. Things were better on this side of the river but the ramps were still closed. At least over here the docks were mostly out of the water ,except where they attached to the land. The rest of the docks were floating high and dry.You just couldn't get out to them.
My last stop was the boat ramp in Enterprise. Here we had high water but the docks were high and dry. But I could see where they could have some problems with them when the water starts to recede. Some of the rings on the docks were over the top of the pylons keeping them in place. If they don't go straight down they will be hung up on them. The ramps were open but with the high water it did not leave a lot of room on the ramp for the truck.
With some luck maybe I'll see about a test run this week. I'll let you know if I make it out.
PS I hope last nights rain doesn't raise the water much...
another good day at the office !
Thx for the 411 Jim. I saw a thing about the water level from the cane would max out on 10-2 and start going down. I don't know about this rain we just got. Wait and see I guess.
