Bite was tough but did catch a couple gooduns but ended up with just a few caught around falling trees and caught the striper in the middle of the river, boy that was fun with a 12 ft Mr. Crappie rod.

Those are some NICE fish!! Going in the morning with the SIL and looking for some of the green fish I saw last weekend that were popping bait all around me. Don't think he's ever gotten a real good one. I'm torn as to what I want to do after those big gills I got last week, some good fillets. Doesn't look like I'll need a giant anchor this week either. Were you using minnows or just Jigs? I don't use much live bait but may break down and use some for insurance.

Did you weigh that Crappie? Looks to be pushing 2lbs. Real nice fillets on that one.

Hi skeetbum, I didn't weigh them cause my scale is shot and haven't replaced it, but sure wish I did, speck was 2+ guessing. Jigs tipped with minnow and fishing up in your neck of the woods (44 just north of the bridge) Good luck to you and SIL, I know it is tough changing the transition from one fish to another. Specks have slowed so I think I am going to try this striper thing.
