Went to Roland martins last week. Fishing was tough I Usually was all about bass with lures in previous trips. This time I was going to be 50 50 bass crappie. Bass were slow only a few on lures more bass came from crappie fishing. I rotated between a local jig from bait shop with flash tail. Minnow under bobber and trout magnet the local jig was the best producer. I got maybe 20 crappie all week. I found a 100 yard stretch of shore on Tom canal that held some. I went to Indian prairie Friday with boat on trailer I managed on crappie up there I think I was in tin house cove. I was in a Lund deep V. Hope I did not crowd anyone. That boat is tough in the wind I only saw a few others catching. The area looked good Thursday I went to saw grass park in Everglades. I got my first peacock 18" on crappie jig and minnow it was a blast on 12ft rod many oscars too fun to catch not to take off hook. I moved up the canal and got into kills and Mayan chiclid. That day made the trip. No crappie though in Everglades. Bass were slow too I suspect high water was to blame. That is normally 100 bass a day spot 24 hour drive later l am home lake in backyard has thin coat of ice on it
Glad you enjoyed your time in our backyard.
