    Default Astor/surrounding area

Planning a trip to Silver Springs to visit Father in Law next week. Looking for suggestions on where to fish, nice places to stay where boat can be left in water.

I like to jig visible cover, and fish minnows under corks. Not a troller or spider rigger.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Panasoffkee (loaded with grass in the middle), Panavista Lodge has boat slips if the canal is not too low. Orange, Lochloosa (call Lochloosa Harbor), Henderson, Hernando, Weir, Griffin and Harris lakes are in the area.

No sir. Live close enough to never pay attention to any of them. Shoot a pm to fishin813. I believe Harold has stayed at a few of them.

Astor is a little longer drive but a straight shot east on hwy. 40 from silver springs. St. Johns is an awesome water system with awesome fishing opportunities but with that being said, it can be challenging. I plan on coming down in a couple weeks. Tight lines to ya and remember to post a report and pics. Oh, I almost forgot Lake Griffin has a 10 inch minimum on Specks.

Lots of pads in the Astor area,
Caught some on pads this weekend.
At the mouth of lake George there is a tremendous amount of pilings that are good for jigging
