Thread: Wife's first Slab

We had a few hours to waste yesterday waiting on the time to go pick up my 17 year old Daughter (This is the first time I have ever seen her, Long story but her mom was good at hide and seek) so I decided it was time to get her on the water. Went out on Toho, got to my spot and started trolling, long lining as always. Got the first pole out and as I was setting up her second I hear her squeal, Fish on. Thoughts of a grand Christmas eve fishing trip for the ages ran thru my mind. She fought the fish like a champ on the 4' ultralight. Got it to the boat and was a beautiful Christmas fish. We fished for another 2 and half hours and my wife caught a few more slabs, and a 3 pound bass, Me, not the first fish. Was a great start to the day despite me getting skunked, and ended with my daughter being here. By far 2016 has been the best year ever, Married my best friend, and now a beautiful daughter is part of my life. Merry Christmas to all, May 2017 bring full stringers, and many great stories.
