Default Problems with pump out of live well.

My Bass Tracker boat live well has the capability of pumping the water from the live well, as well as the bottom drain.
THIS PROBLEM CAN ALSO AFFECT YOUR BILGE PUMP OUT.
I tried to pump the water out, I could hear the pump motor purring, but no water would come out.
Just got around to investigate, found that the Anoles , (lizards) had built a nest within the output port on the side of the boat. I KEEP THE BOAT WITHIN AN OUTSIDE STORAGE AREA.
I broke the thru the hull port in the process of trying to find the problem.
My solution to this problem is to place a cotton ball in the opening of the port. This should keep the critters out and when you need to activate the port, the cotton ball should just pop out under pressure. ( Will have to see next time out.)

I have to put a small piece of duct tape over my water pump discharge hole when I'm parked under the barn.... Those pesky dirt dobbers like to plug it up. Works the same way.... When I power up it blows the tape off/loose so that he water will flow out.

Thanks - I store mine in an outside storage area, too. Your suggestions could prevent future headaches.

Dirt dobbers clogged mine on tracker, didn't notice until I re-trailered after fishing I saw the grey round circle putting the motor down on bracket. Took my knife and poked it a couple times and out came the water. Wine cork works well.

Nope, stray cats, cuban lizards and my dogs keep them things almost non existent in my area. Seldom ever see the anoles or any lizards except them skinks.

Any loose fitting plug and a string attached to the boat on the other end keeps from having to remember it. Guys in TN dealt with the daubers a lot. Whittled a small stick to fit loose in the pee tube and tied it off to something on the back of the boat nearby. Never had to whittle another. So far, so good for me.

    There ya go ! ! ! !
    Changing the rules again ! ! ! !
All my life we have called those little lizards Chameleons (change colors ya know) ! ! !
    Now all of a suden they're caled "Anoles" = Never heard that name ! ! ! !

They always been Chameleons, and yeah, those funny looking lizards are called Chameleons too.
But "THIS" is the "FIRST" time I ever heard of a Chameleon being called an Anole (Never heard of it ) ! ! ! !

And I've had my boat parked outside for ten years and never had anything plug any holes up ........
