I got tremendously lucky. I moved down here from Indiana when I was 14 years old to live with my mom. I needed a job, so about 2-3 weeks after I moved down here I had her take me down to the beach, I figured I'd help clean fish/boats, whatever, maybe get some free fishing trips and make some money.
Walking down the dock to the Sea Trek on Ft Myers Beach, I see a guy toting a bag, obviously very angry storming off the dock. Walked up to the feller who looked in charge, big ole Captain Kenny Pearson. I introduced myself, shook his hand, and asked if he needed any help or could find use for a hard working hillbilly from the Midwest. He told me to show up at 7am and turned around and walked away from me. I showed up at 7, and realized that I was going out on the boat, and so began my offshore fishing career. I had literally never even been on the ocean before. Did lots and lots, did I mention LOTS? of 36-60 hour trips far offshore. Will put a whipping on you, but the fishing is just amazing.
Made a good name for myself and kept it up until I got into my junior year of college. Made more money than a kid knew what to do with, to boot.
Sunshine that is so cool! Definitely post some pictures if you have some... :-)

DANG! Just realized. We started out helping Sunshine spend $50.00 and ended up possibly costing me $500.00. WTH? Glad he didnt have $1000.00 burning a hole in his pocket!
Hahahaha..will be worth it!
Besides I laughed when I saw Sunshine mention $50. You know the saying... give a man a fish he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and then he has to buy, rods, reels, tackle, bait, a boat, motor, trolling motor, gps, house on the water, etc etc... fifty dollars?? Lol.

Notice I said it was a start! lol
Was really just trying to get people to come off of what jigs/tubes/baits they use most often. Really easy to fill up a tackle box with expensive crap that you never use.
I have 4 boats sitting in my yard, only one of them has a running motor right now :Rofl
Tell me about it! I got a container full of stuff I bought tried and put away. Start with Southern Pro Hot Grubs and their tubes in a few colors I mentioned. Hone and try from there. Skip the jigheads at walmart. Look for 1/16oz with #2 hooks.
Yeah i was just messing with you. We have a lot that will probably never see the light of day. Better to do it smart than have a bunch you never use.
