Thread: orlando crappie or catfish

moving back to orlando iv never fished there are tons of lakes most are huge which require a boat looking for a place i canbank fish for crappie or cats i prefer large creeks small rivers i didnt see any on google maps i live in the kissimmee area near disney

Welcome back to Florida....I have no clue about that area for bank fishing.... Seems like all the shore lines have been developed...... Houses every where now

Orlando area from bank probably best bet is Shingle creek on 192 east of I-4. Or head over to the coast and surf fish. Lean towards surf fishing, especially with mullet run kicking off up and down the coast.

i looked it up couldn't find much on whats good to fish for there is it a creek or old back water

Some State Parks should shore fishing. If you want to go to Lakeland you can bank fish at Tenoroc or Saddle creek Park. Saddle Creek has a bait shop on Hwy 60, Phillips Bait. People catch a lot of catfish and Talapia . Use a cork to keep cricket off the bottom for Talapia. Look for a line of people or ask at bait shop when you buy crickets. Not to far from Kissimmee. Look for Phillips online for address. They will help you. You can see Saddle creek from their front door.

i just saw a video of planes going over saddle creek man its neat for sure tons of mini lakes and roads to access them said they stock it with channel catfish i wonder if there's any flathead's does any creeks feed it? All i could find was guys bass fishing or baby channel catfish so far i only really fish for catfish flathead's mainly ill take blues channels crappie and sunfish for bait or eat the big ones

No flatheads down here. Panhandld fof flatheads.

Plenty of natural catfish, Bullheads and speckled.
They are reclaimed phosphate pits that are fed by Saddle Creek that flows from the north end of Lake Hancock.

I am wrong about flowing from Lake Hancock. Saddle Creek flows into the north end of Lake Hancock.

Plenty of bank fishing here in Kissimmee. Kissimmee Lake front has some good spots near the Big Toho marina, as does St. Cloud lakefront, just off the beach in St. Cloud is oe of the deepest holes in the lake, Just walk out to the flag pole sit on a rock and enjoy. St. Cloud Canal at the locks right now is a hot spot. Canoe Creek is another good one, got my biggest cat there bank fishing. Shingle Creek is OK out near the lake, but cant get there on foot. Lived here my whole life, Here is a list with addresses that will get you to some good spots.
