    Default Whatzzzzz up guys!

Hello friends! I miss everyone of you ugly ole slab junkies!

Yes I am alive and well and back in town to stay for awhile. Almost ready to kick some crappie butt.

I'm tired of work, computers, phones, traffic, the summer, and I'm tired of looking at my boat parked in the garage.

IM JUST ABOUT READY to cash in on my hard work and efforts........ That means fishing in my world. Even had a chance to upgrade the ole Slow Ride a bit and got me a few of them Spyderloks. Sofar WOW...... But that's just me sitting in the driveway with all 8 poles deployed for reference. Got a few strange looks from my neighbors.....and a symphony hug from the wife..... But hey! they just don't get it, and I just play along.

I'm excited for the upcoming season and have learned to enjoy every day I'm afforded the chance to turn off the dang phone and just breath.

Now if we can just get past this latest storm threat on the west coast ...... I'm golden to start my assault in a week or two.

Hope to see a few of you while out and about this season.

About 3000 work days left in these ole bones before I bail to that fabled land called "retirement"? So that being said.....

You retire farts make room..... Slow Ride coming through!

And the excitement continues to build.......

Plenty of room for the slowride.... Great to see your post! I do the pole thing in my driveway often.... It's perfect for making adjustments etc. And I just sit back and admire them to..... Awesomeness!!!! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Did the same this weekend with mine. Except the camper was in the way for one side. But should only need minor adjustments to all come Saturday OTW.

I think most crappie fishermen do the same I know I do. I just sit on the front of mine and thank God for how blessed I am and for all the hard work I put in so I can live the retirement life I am able to live. May God bless everyone on CDC with full coolers and best friends during the upcoming year.

I've done that also. But I put up a screen so the neighbors don't see what I'm catching. They would be hanging their poles over the fence trying to get to my honey hole.
Stu those spyderloks are so easy to adjust you don't need advance training. Good to hear from you. How's the water level in Groveland?

Hey Stu, good to hear your getting ready for some crappie action. I've been laid up for about 5 weeks, had my left knee replaced, but I did manage to get out on my birthday 8-30-16 and caught some nice fish. Looking forward to December and some Crescent lake action.

Highest water level in the chain in over 20-25 years? I mean WAY up. Like to the point of another 8-12 inches will mean flooded roads and lakefront yards. You can actually travel all the way from Louisa up into Cherry lake now.......so much water now ...... Way to much cover for the fish though. The fish can almost work their way back into the adjacent trees and swamps......and I mean way back into the trees.

A lot of hearsay as too why the water came about / returned, ranging from a Polk county farmer blockage cleared to the gates opened into the green swamp, to just rain runoff.

Either way we are now darn close to swamped with all the adjacent dried up swamp areas now being 3-5 feet deep themselves.

Talk about a complete reversal of a year or two ago. Amazing.

Doesn't setup well now for fishing ( though it has its days) but once the water starts to drop a bit? Game on!

The chain is as pretty as it gets for boat rides but also loaded with pleasure boats and watercraft yahoos right now and it's share of BLI's.

Sure enought they should be starting to get chased off the lakes the closer we get to cooler temps.

I'm pretty happy for now, but will really get excited once it drops a bit.

At 6am with the morning light just starting to crest the treetops...... It still takes my breath away.

I do love my hometown chain, always very relaxing.

Good to hear from you stu. Sorry about the jay oh bee as one gewber I know would say it. 3000 days to get rid of that issue seems way too long. Sounds like you need a plan. Maybe something that'll help you divide that number by two or three. But in the mean time, a good fishing trip will certainly help a ton.
