Default Kissimme Chain of Lakes Report

Was blessed with the chance to get out this past week and paid a visit to the Kissimmee Chain. Alligator Lake, Lake Lizzie, Lake Coon, Lake Brick, Lake Trout. Did fairly well with over 30 in the boat but mostly concentrated on moving around and exploring the chain in that area, and I must say it was a beautiful day and an awesome "Slow Ride" from lake to lake. I think the older I get the more I have learned to appreciate the surroundings that come with my fishing as much as the fishing itself. One of the best parts was finding that quiet canal / off shot / tributary, pulling up to the shaded bank surrounded by large trees, and digging into my shore lunch sub and simply taking it all in and fully enjoying my place on this earth at that time. Called it a day a little after noon and felt nothing short of fully charged for the coming week. This week I'm heading towards East Lake, Tiger and Marian still charged up from last weekend. It still amazes me how much I really enjoy my crappie fishing to this day..........the catching is always just the bonus

I hope you all manage to get out a few before the rotten summer hits and just enjoy ................being.

I have been doing good in Lake Cypress, and up in Canoe Creek off of Cypress. If you ever hit Gentry the specks hold closer to shore rather than out in the open lake. Dad figured that out years ago after getting skunked there a few times. If you find them East lake has had a good concentration of 2 pound plus specks.

Glad you had a good day Stu. And I agree that the catching is a bonus. When I hunted I always went alone, it seemed, and therefore hunted from the ground. Can't fall far from there. Waiting til daylight and marching into the woods isn't productive. I always knew where I was going and would go in an hour or more before daylight and sit. Some of the most pleasant memories have no Deer in them, just watching the woods come to life and if you stay still, what will walk right up to you. The down side is that trying to explain how exciting that was is difficult at best. Solitude is becoming a rare commodity. Thanks for the post. Haven't been in a while and you brought back some good times.

Glad to see you get out and enjoy the great out doors. I think those kind of days grow on you with age. Does that mean your getting old????
