April Gathering ???
So I ran this by Ed & we have his 100% approval & he is willing to provide sponsor goodies.
Since the slabfest/slabtogethers aren't as popular & aren't scheduled every month. I thought maybe if enough interest was there
we could set up a gathering to end the "season". We used to do a big gathering in April every year at Lake Monroe Park & have pizza or whatever brought in. That does not have to be done, we could just meet up & leave or go somewhere to eat??
The idea was to have a Crappie.com St.Johns River trash pick up. We could meet at 1 location or you could go to your favorite fishin hole/boat ramp & meet back at 1 location. Lake Monroe Park seems to be a central location with plenty of parking & we could try to reserve a pavilion. We could give out prizes for most trash collected, strangest item or funniest item found.
Thoughts/Ideas Welcome !!
I know the county holds some type or river clean up day as well but figured we could have our own or join theirs.
Either way it would be a day on the water, doing good for the river we all love & spend some time with old friends & new friends.
Possible dates: 4/2/16 or 4/9/16

I'm just too old to be driving all the way over to Harris chain anymore, especially draggin my boat
all the way over there to catch one little fish (my average over there)........
I loved the Slabfests and miss em. I would think, now that they are a thing of the past, that the last get together
of the season surely would be a big Slabfest, for sure, isn't that what we celebrate for = (Crappie) ...
I don't want to go over to Monroe to eat chicken, or pizza, hey, I want some Crappie ! ! ! ! !
Now that we aren't working the cooks and providers to death anymore, perhaps we could, perhaps, just maybe, persuade
them to at least pull out the pots and cookers one last time for an "End of Season" Slabfest ........
Of course, that would be totally up to them .....
I have checked my "reserves" and found that I happen to have an extra 100 fillets that I can offer to the get together .......
So, ya'll chew on this idea and see what ya come up with ...............
