Do you need mosquito repellent during daytime crappie fishing Harris chain areas?

No. You worried about ZEKA?
I haven't been bothered but just a little on the days that went to the 80's lately, and there was no wind on the river.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Harris chains today and wasn't no problem. was breezy though I was on the north side of the lake staying out of the wind didn't have no buzzers around.
(Disclaimer: Live local to the chain but not a fan, so dont put too much weight into my following statement/s)
You might have a better chance of finding skeeters on the Harris chain..... than fish
Wouldnt rule out trying some of the other surrounding area lakes once you get tired of anything/everything on Harris chain. Woody, Dexter, Monroe, Harney......... heck even the local retention pond might be more productive.
Spending a week fishing them waters might make you feel like your suffering from the Zeka virus itself.
All kidding aside, ofcourse having great company to spend the time with while fishing could render the above moot.
Hope you catch a mess! Good Luck and have some fun.

Bring your favorite can of bug spray any time you visit central/south Florida... even though it's winter, the temp could be 55 one day and 85 the next.
Right now the fish at Harris are in or close to the grass. This may change by the time you arrive. Like Stu said it's a tough lake. While I was on vacation there last week, I limited one day and zero'd the next.
Honestly on the lakes and river around here the only time skeetrrs have bothered me is at the ramp. Now get in the smaller tighter rivers like Econ or Wekiva and occasionally so. But get around Mangroves and ya better be covered in deet.
no spray for daytime harris chain, but from 4 on u may anytime
