Yeah I went last Monday thinking that close to the full moon and with the cold snap they'd be bunched up but instead they were froze up! They were scattered for sure. Thanks for the report.

Hit up Lochloosa yesterday for the first time in a few weeks. Fish still seemed to be some-what scattered and in all depths. Trolled artificials and hand-tied jigs at 1mph. Didn't keep any or get a count on the ones caught but I'd guess I caught 40 or so by lunch. Big fish was 1.5lbs. Water temp was 58.

Yup. I went out there for my very first time fishing not only Lochloosa but crappie fishing in general. I got to Lochloosa Harbor at 7am and couldn't believe how many vehicles with boats were there waiting to put in and how many were already there fishing at that time. I was parked at the railroad tracks in line.
I'm not set up for trolling so my two boys and I just threw out minnows with slip bobbers up at the north end of the lake. I had 2 rods and they each had one. Wasn't sure what depth to put my minnows at so I just had them around 4-6 feet deep. We only caught 10 but one was 1.47lbs 13.5". We fished till about 3pm. We had enough for a nice supper last night.![]()
My youngest holding the biggest slab.
Not sure why I can't get the picture of my kid from showing up sideways. LOL
