Fished a few forest lakes in the 50's, 60's with brothers and father. Long Pond was one we camped at. Caught my biggest Bass out of Long Pond. Most of those lakes and ponds have Starhead minnows that we caught with a dip net. Bass just love them. we caught Bass on cane poles and catfish on trot lines. Many memories in those old haunts.
Don't remember about specks much. I think Lake Katherine had some then and should now. Long Pond has dried and choked with hydrilla.
