Wow, when I'm long lining jigs I will often throw a tiny, sinking rapala and catch on them but nothing that digs so deep.

By pushing them you can pretty much dial em in to the depth you want. I usually drag em til something says uncle, me or the fish. I'm still learning how it works best down here but I had it figured out in TN. Warmer weather had em sitting just above the thermocline and 50 or more in a few hours was common.

I had been told for years to try a black bait and never gave it much thought. When I started pulling cranks I bought a black Bandit 300 and was surprised at how well it produced. I always have a solid black out in my spread now, always at least 6 rods unless I can't keep up with em. A little glitter in the clear coat helps all the colors work a bit better too.
